DESCRIPTION:Toronto’s reggae and dancehall crowd has a late-night vinyl session to look forward to this August. DUTTY brings Skratch Bastid and Choppa Chop together at BSMT254 for an in-person night built around deep selections\, heavyweight records and the sound-system energy of a dedicated all-vinyl session. \nThe event runs from 10:00 PM into the early morning\, making it a natural fit for listeners looking for a full night of music in Toronto. The session takes place at 254 Lansdowne Avenue\, in the city’s Lansdowne Avenue area. \nAn all-vinyl reggae and dancehall session\nAt the centre of the night is a shared love of reggae and dancehall on record. Skratch Bastid joins Choppa Chop behind the decks for a set of selections drawn from their extensive musical knowledge and record collections. The result is an evening focused on the craft of selection\, with the music itself taking the lead. \nChoppa Chop is identified with BIG Toe’s HiFi\, while Skratch Bastid is known for his Bastid’s BBQ event\, which has been bringing music\, food and community together for more than 14 years.
