Yorkville Avenue will host four days of TIFF opening-weekend programming when the Rogers Red Carpet returns from Thursday, September 10, through Sunday, September 13. The outdoor event combines free film screenings with live performances, interactive experiences, photo opportunities and Q&As.
The Rogers Red Carpet runs on Yorkville Avenue between Bellair Street and Hazelton Avenue. Its schedule moves from an opening-night concert by Kid Koala to daytime performances, film discussions and evening screenings throughout the weekend.
Saturday pairs Our Lady Peace with a full evening of film
Saturday carries one of the weekend’s strongest music-and-film lineups. The 99s perform at 12:30 p.m., followed by an Our Lady Peace performance and Q&A at 2 p.m. The Casa Loma Orchestra with E Street plays at 5 p.m.
The evening turns to cinema at 7 p.m. with a Short Cuts screening and Q&A for Between Late April & Early May. The outdoor screening of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon follows at 8 p.m.
