Toronto Apple fans may want to block off Wednesday afternoon.
Apple has officially confirmed that its next special event will take place Wednesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time — 1 p.m. Eastern Time in Toronto. Apple is calling the presentation “Surprise and shine.”
The company says the keynote will be available to watch online through the official Apple Events page and the Apple TV app. What Apple has not officially confirmed is which products will appear during the presentation.
That distinction matters.
While months of reporting point toward the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and potentially Apple’s first foldable iPhone, those devices remain unannounced until Apple executives actually reveal them.
For Canadian consumers wondering whether this is the year to upgrade, however, September 9 could be one of Apple’s most consequential iPhone launches in years.

Apple’s September 9 event starts at 1 p.m. in Toronto

Is Apple actually launching the iPhone 18 Pro?
Apple hasn’t said so yet.
But multiple reports indicate the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to headline the September event.
Reuters reported that Apple is expected to unveil its latest iPhone series at the event and could also introduce its first foldable iPhone.
MacRumors has also reported that the expected premium lineup includes the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, alongside a foldable device that could potentially carry the “iPhone Ultra” name.
The key word remains “expected.”
Until the keynote takes place, product names, specifications, prices and release dates should all be treated as reports rather than confirmed Apple announcements.
That is especially important when shopping for an iPhone 18 Pro in Canada, where U.S. pricing rumours do not always translate neatly into Canadian retail prices.
What could change with the iPhone 18 Pro?

Should Toronto iPhone owners upgrade?
That answer will depend heavily on what Apple announces Wednesday.
Owners of relatively recent Pro models may find that camera and processor improvements alone are not enough to justify another premium-priced upgrade.
Someone carrying an older device may see a much bigger jump in battery life, camera quality, performance and software capability.
And if Apple does finally launch a foldable iPhone, there will suddenly be a completely different option for buyers willing to pay for the newest form factor.
The smartest move right now is probably the simplest one:
