Toronto had a date to keep — and the city showed up.
On March 27, 2026 — the exact date their debut dropped a decade ago — DVSN brought their Sept. 5th 10-Year Anniversary Tour home to Massey Hall, and the energy was nothing short of electric. The historic venue sold out, and for one unforgettable night, it belonged entirely to Toronto’s own.
DVSN — vocalist Daniel Daley and Grammy Award-winning producer Nineteen85 — have always been known for their narcotic slow-jams, balancing falsetto deliveries with contemporary production that hits different live. And if you were lucky enough to be in that room on Thursday night, you felt every single note.
It’s hard to overstate what Sept. 5th means to Toronto R&B. On September 5, 2015, Nineteen85 slipped two songs from an unnamed project onto OVO Sound Radio’s Beats 1 broadcast — no press photos, no artist bio, no faces. Just “The Line” and “With Me” floating into the airwaves, credited to something called DVSN. Within hours, the city was buzzing. Within months, the world was listening. The album — Sept. 5th — was released March 27, 2016 on OVO Sound and Warner Bros. Records, and it announced something special had arrived.
A decade later, Massey Hall made it official: this music is timeless.
The crowd sang every word. From the slow-burning opener to the seven-minute gut-punch that is “The Line,” Daniel Daley’s voice — raw, soaring, deeply human — filled every corner of the hall. Nineteen85’s production, warm and pulsing beneath it all, hit the chest like a heartbeat. This wasn’t just a concert. It was a homecoming.
The buzz across the city started well before showtime. Tickets had long been gone. Social feeds were flooded. Toronto was ready to celebrate one of its own — an OVO-bred duo who quietly became one of the most important acts in modern R&B.
